First Time’s the Charm

Shawn and his wife, Jamie, are no strangers to games. These members of their local pool league are very familiar with the thrill of a win, especially when it comes to games that include the movement of a ball. When they decided to take a chance on something new, swapping cue balls for Keno balls, they were handsomely rewarded with a different kind of shot: An 8-spot jackpot for more than $67,000!

This sport bar fairytale is also a cautionary story, though, because it was nearly a scratch! Shawn’s first check of the ticket didn’t give a clear answer. But he slept on it and, like a true pro, checked it again with the Oregon Lottery app in the morning. That’s when he and Jamie realized that this was the break of a lifetime.

What are these two going to do with their winnings? They’re going to keep playing, of course! They’ve already got their 10^th anniversary trip to Vegas planned and now also planning a Mexican getaway. They also shared that they’d be making Keno a regular part of their pool nights out.
