On April 1st, one must be on high alert for pranks, jokes, and other misleading foolery! It was with this mindset that Nancy stopped at a Fred Meyers in Beaverton to get groceries with her friend and dad, who was visiting from India. She decided to buy a Mega Millions ticket, as her dad Paul had never played before. They agreed on Paul’s grandchildren’s birth dates as her numbers, and they crossed their fingers.
Later that night, Nancy checked the ticket in the Oregon Lottery app, and it told them to go to the Lottery offices. She thought it had to be an April Fool’s joke! But it was very real – they had matched 5 numbers, which was good for a $10,000 Mega Millions win! No pranks here, Nancy plans to treat her dad to the best end to his vacation.
