Retailer Round-Up
October 25, 2024
Goodbye Lucky Lines! Hello Cash Pop!
We will be welcoming Cash Pop in early 2025. Cash Pop is a fast paced, quick, and easy to play game. A favorite in other states, Cash Pop is sure to delight your lottery customers too.
How it works
- Players pick which number(s) to play, from 1-15. They can play just one number or up to all fifteen. If they don’t want to pick their own number, they can select a Quick Pick
- A single number is drawn to determine the winning number
- The player wins if their number matches the number drawn; it’s just that easy!
- Drawings will take place 16 times per day, every hour from 7 am to 10 pm
- Stay tuned for a detailed info sheet to showcase Cash Pop further
lucky lines
Based on its sales performance, we are saying goodbye to Lucky Lines. There will be a reduction process for Lucky Lines for your players who purchase multiple drawings.
Mark Your Calendars
Raffle will be on sale beginning December 29.
Holiday Scratch-its
Have you activated your Holiday tickets? Holiday games launch the first Tuesday of October, so this year’s six games debuted on October 1. Due to their limited time in market, make the most of this high-volume selling season and activate them today!
Responsible Gaming
During the holiday season and throughout the year, the Oregon Lottery suggests tickets as a great gift option for those hard-to-buy-for individuals on your list. However, Lottery tickets should only be given to adults 18 years of age or older.
Did you know?
We can only return partial Scratch-it games once they have ended. For this reason, please continue to sell through partial packs in your dispenser and always let your account manager know when you have ended games needing to be returned.
Best Practice Reminders
treatment of lottery staff
At all times, we encourage our retailers to cooperate, be courteous, and to provide businesslike treatment to Lottery employees, officers, agents, vendors, and the Oregon State Police while they are performing duties related to your 2020 contract, and we require all of your employees to do the same.
As a retailer, you must take all reasonable measures to protect Lottery staff who perform work at your premises from interference by any persons on the premises and will require all of your employees to do the same.
At times, Lottery employees may need to provide information to you that you may find upsetting. This could include discussing equipment removals, updated background checks for key persons, compliance actions, or new policies and rules. Though these conversations can be difficult, Oregon Lottery expects cooperative and businesslike treatment to Lottery employees, officers, agents, and Oregon State Police. If at any time a retailer makes any disparaging, threatening, or hostile comments towards Lottery staff, it is grounds for terminating your 2020 contract. If you find yourself wanting additional clarity about new information, it is encouraged that you write down your concerns and submit them to Retail Contracts or their Account Manager.
assumed business name & entity updates
It is a requirement of your 2020 contract that your Entity and Assumed Business Name (ABN) be active with the Secretary of State. The ABN is the name on the door or sign for your business. It’s the name your customers see. Your ABN must be renewed every two years and the business entity must be updated annually. The ABN must be correctly registered on the Secretary of State’s website. You can check to make sure your business Entity and ABN are correctly registered here.
new paid pools
What are DraftKings Pools? Pools are fixed-price point forms of betting in which wagers are placed against other players who have entered the same pool event. This creates a social aspect of playing—much like an office pool or bracket. Easily create a private betting pool to play with your friends and family! Whenever a public pool is available, players can create a private pool to play against each other socially! Check them out.
dedicated power requirements
Whether you have Video Lottery or Traditional Lottery, dedicated power is required for OSL equipment.
- Dedicated Breakers Use at least two for VLTs and one for front counter terminals (iLink, Compact, Router, etc.). Only lottery products should be plugged into these outlets.
- Regular Checks Verify no additional cords are in Lottery-dedicated outlets or isobars. Relocate any unauthorized cords.
- Clean and Label Keep electrical areas tidy and labeled for easy issue identification and maintenance.
password safety
We encourage you to relocate any publicly facing passwords to prevent any risk or theft to your terminal. Your 4-digit password is for staff’s eyes only. The password was added as an extra security measure to prevent theft on the terminal.
