Popular Oregon Lottery Raffle Game Returns

Salem, Ore. – On March 17, one lucky Oregon Lottery player will hold a ticket worth $1 million. This year marks Oregon’s 23rd $1 Million Raffle and tickets are on sale now across the state.

The $10 seasonal ticket has sold out in advance of the drawing every year with one exception. A 2019 ice storm and power outage contributed to the only non-sellout in the history of the popular game. With more than 1,800 cash prizes and only 250,000 available tickets, Raffle players have the best odds of winning $1 million in comparison to any Lottery game. Retailers began selling the tickets January 1, 2023.

Last year’s top winner, Janelle Visaya of Corvallis, said she used her prize to put a down payment on a house and pay off bills.

“It really did make a difference in my life,” she said. “It alleviated any stress I had about debts and made it possible to invest in a home.”

The Lottery releases the winning numbers at 5 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17. Raffle ticket sales close on Wednesday, March 15, to prepare for the drawing, but the trend has been to sell out sooner. Approximately 101,000 tickets remain ahead of this year’s drawing. To check the winning Raffle numbers, players can use the Lottery’s mobile app, go to www.oregonlottery.org, or visit a participating Oregon Lottery retail location.

Prizes for the Raffle include:

• One $1 million top prize
• 300 prizes of $500
• 1,500 prizes of $100

$500 and $100 prize winners can claim their prizes at any Oregon Lottery retail location. The $1 million prize winner must visit the Lottery office in Salem to claim their prize.
Overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 138.8.

The Oregon Lottery reminds players to always sign the back of their winning Lottery tickets. In the event of winning a jackpot, players should consult with a trusted financial planner or similar professional to develop a plan for their winnings. Prize winners of more than $50,000 should contact the Lottery office to schedule an appointment to claim their prize.
