Joanie Stevens-Schwenger Named Oregon Lottery

Former Department of Environmental Quality Communications Manager Joanie Stevens-Schwenger has been appointed Corporate Communications/Public Information Manager for the Oregon Lottery effective January 6, 2014.
“Joanie brings a wealth of experience, tremendous energy and a valuable outside perspective to the Oregon Lottery,” said Oregon Lottery Director Jack Roberts. “She is a valuable addition to our team.”
Stevens-Schwenger brings more than 20 years of management experience in corporate communications and public information with the State of Oregon. She served as Public Information Officer for the Bureau of Labor and Industries from 1990 to 2000, and then moved to the Department of Consumer and Business Services where she took on the role of Communications Manager/Tri-County Service Center Manager for the Building Codes Division until 2007. Since 2007, Stevens-Schwenger worked at the Department of Environmental Quality, most recently as the Communications Manager.
Since the Oregon Lottery began selling tickets on April 25, 1985, it has earned over $8 billion for economic development, public education, state parks and watershed enhancements. In that same period, it has paid its players more than $23 billion in prizes.
